Bridgwater Swimming Club continued their
success in the second weekend of the Somerset County Championships.
The first events to take place in the
second weekend were the distance events, which took place on the Friday
evening. All the swimmers taking part achieved personal best times, but Jess
Fournier emerged the best of the Bridgwater swimmers, achieving a great time,
almost 35-seconds faster than her previous time in the 800m Freestyle.
Saturday started well with the first
seven Bridgwater swimmers all achieving personal best times, four of which were
quick enough to put them into the top 10 of their respective age groups.
Bridgwater's first medal of the weekend
came in the 100 Individual Medley, Nick Constable
taking his second silver of the Championships and on Sunday added a bronze to
his collection in the 400m Freestyle.
Bridgwater also had the second set of
relay teams taking part, all of which finished in eighth or better.
Greg Kyd and Amy
Anderson both produced times that should be quick
enough in the 100m Breaststroke to qualify them to swim at this years Regional
Youth championships, which will build on events they have already qualified in.
Bridgwater's finale tally came to 25
personal best times, one silver medal, one bronze medal and a 16 further top 10
positions, and four relay top 10 positions.
This has now taken the clubs current
tally to 47 personal best times, two silver medals, three
bronze medals, 29 further top 10 position and seven relay top 10 positions with
one weekend still to go!
