Bridgwater Swimmers shine at
Taunton Deane Open Meet
26 Bridgwater swimmers competed in 124 races producing 82 p.b’s and 15
Western County qualifying/consideration times.
There was no doubt that the swimmer of the meet was Bridgwater’s
Richard Hill finishing first in all of his 11 races producing 8 Western County
qualifying/consideration times. His
performance inspired all of the Bridgwater swimmers to notch up 72 medals 20
gold, 15 silver and 9 bronze.
It was also great to see some
of the clubs younger swimmers competing in their first ever Open Meet lead by
Jack Vearncombe who pick up a
bronze medal in the 100m
Breaststroke.
Greg Kyd made his comeback to competitive swimming after is back injury
and medalled in every event he entered picking up a Western County
Consideration time in the 50m Breatstroke.
Well done to all who took part.
I am looking forward to seeing more swimmers entering Open meets in the
future.
