SASP ACADEMY
(Somerset
Activity and Sports Partnership)
The Academy is one of 5 FUNdamental Swimming Academies to be
set up
across the
county developing
swimmers and giving them their first appropriate competitive
experiences
linked
to the Long Term Athelete Development framework via academy
festivals and time trials.
- Swimmers will be invited
to join the SASP Academy by the Head Coach
- SASP Academy runs from
5.30 - 6.00 pm on a Wednesday night and swimmers are
invited to take up an additional session swimming with
the Stroke Development Squad
- Cost - £23.00 per Month

SASP Swimming
FUNdamentals Academies for 6-9 year olds

To nurture and develop
young swimmers
-
Academies as extra
sessions to re enforce 'FUNdamental Swimming Skills'.

Rolling programme can be
entered into at any stage during the year as soon as
swimmers reach the entry criteria.

Swimmers will move on
from the academies when they reach the required exit
criteria

The programme will link
together School swimming, Learn to Swim and Clubs (PESSCL)

National programme
-
Swimmers have a smooth
transition through their swimming development.
- Swimmers will work in
the SASP Academy for a period of 12 weeks and the SASP
Coach will discuss options for swimmers to move into
Squads once the SASP Academy Programme has been
completed
