BRIDGWATER Swimming Club had a very successful two days' competition in the annual Avalon Level Two open meet at Millfield.

Tom Holder, Jess Barham and Nick Constable all recorded personal-best times, while many others achieved long-course (50-metre pool) pbs.

Constable was on form once again and achieved his goal of qualifying for this the 2007 Western Counties Age Group Regional Championships. He is the first Bridgwater swimmer in three years to have qualified for the event, which is for U-14 boys and U-13 girls. It has a very high qualifying standard, requiring swimmers to prove they can swim the qualifying times at a level-two meet or higher.

The Bridgwater club caters for swimmers of all abilities, from children aged five who are complete beginners to regional-standard swimmers like Nick Constable. If your child needs to learn to swim, or wants to take their swimming further, contact Bridgwater Swimming Club at Sedgemoor Splash.
